Since 2006, Sean and his very close friend Jack have thrown a Thanksgiving party for all of our friends. It always occurs on the Saturday following Thanksgiving. The party has grown exponentially in duration, food quantiy & quality, attendance, and overall epic fun. In 2008, the party expanded to occur over three days instead of just Saturday night. Below is the invite from 2009 which outlines the weekend's events.
Photos can be found all over the place, but we've tried to compile them all into this flickr pool. Sean also has sets from 2007 and 2008 in his flickr.

It's a common misconception in today's society that Thanksgiving Day is your annual opportunity to completely stuff yourself with food. In reality, Thanksgiving Day is actually no more than just the warm up lap to the true feast that takes place on the following Saturday. This feast is on a whole different scale than Thursday -- one that requires use of the word POTLUCK. Over two nights and three days, we'll be guiding you along in an unprecedented journey of gastronomical exploration, copious liquid refreshment, and recreational self-destruction. This is an event you will not soon forget.
*** Friday, November 28 - The Onset *** Cocktail Social and Welcome Reception 8PM @ Safehouse - 2301 E Denny Way Join the gentlemen of Safehouse for friendly drinks and delicious people. This year's focus will be on a short menu of delightful autumnal cocktails, from nineteenth century classics to cutting edge modern mixology. We'll have a laid-back environment with fine downtempo tunes and plenty of places to chill and mix with one another. Donations of light munchies to share or a bottle of your favorite libation are always appreciated. Creative cocktail attire suggested -- go wherever you will with that! *** Saturday, November 29 - The Peak *** PLZKTHXGVNG EPISODE IV 6PM @ Snackpalace - 1528 18th Ave Please bring yourself, a friend, a date, a kid, or any intelligent being with the ability to ingest to help us power through this mountain of edible tastiness. As it's a potluck, any dish, side, appetizer, or dessert is appreciated as well (but not required for party attendance). The party will get going at 6 with the birds popping out around 7, but hot food will likely continue to manifest for another hour or two thereafter. Besides the traditional turkeys (three of them, y'all! deep fried, jerk turkey, and prosciutto-wrapped!) the house will also be providing greens, mashed potatoes, meat gravy, killer vegan rosemary gravy, and likely a couple of other sides. Bring food, booze, psychedelics, strippers, FOOD, and anything else you think people will love. That is why it's called Pot Luck, bitches! Olympia's Amina Foxdye will be going on the decks in the livingroom at around nine followed by our own legendary Jerry Abstract. There will be rock band and foosball in the basement, and the front porch will almost certainly see a cop or two before the night is over. Jack and Sean will be cooking and otherwise holding down Snackpalace from 11 am until the main event begins at six o'clock. Feel free to come by early and keep us company, taunt us with witty commentary, and help keep us "hydrated"! We'll have a secondary full kitchen available at Safehouse and a grill set up outside for anybody who wants to cook on the spot, in case the primary kitchen exceeds capacity. *** Sunday, November 30 - The Comedown *** Leftovers Brunch and Lazy Movie Afternoon 12PM @ Zhouse - 988 21st Ave Bring your sweet hangover to zHouse for brunch and whatever leftovers can be salvaged from the plzkthx carnage. The forecast is showing a decent chance of bloody marys and mimosas, and indicates a very high probability of cuddling on futons and watching a stupid movie or two. |
